Memoirs from friends and family~

  • “Amongst a sea of potatoes, a lone companion emerged, and it was none but you. Together, we bellowed with pride, weaving the enchanting tapestry of our ancestors' melodies, as we embarked on a regal voyage across our realm.”

    — Brandon Storm Otis - The King of Potatoes

  • "Your spirit lives on in our memories and in every heart you touched."

    — Hochhalter and the Rasmussen family.

  • "I read a quote once that wondered what it was like--To Go. It's always kept with me; That it's like being a kid at a family party, and you fall asleep on the couch. You're carried off to bed, yet you can still hear the laughter in the other room. I hope it is like that for you. -- There's a million things I wish I could say or do, but it won't do much good to write it all here. Know that your story will forever linger and continue on, all due to the love we have for you. Like a filter over the world, you've put much meaning where there was previously little meaning to be found."

    — Bailey Otis

  • "Kiana, I met you for the first time at Bass Ribbon Pines music festival in 2022. You were dating Max at the time, and I was overwhelmed with how nice and caring you both were, even though I was practically a stranger to you. You definitely helped make that weekend one to remember. A couple weekends ago I was at Bass Ribbon Pines again for this years festival and when I first got there I was hoping we'd cross paths. I even sent you the form link to sign up for being a merch/vendor there because you told me you would've loved to do that since you were hoping to start a business, but you weren't there. I think the last time we spoke was about how you were going to make me a Lil Peep shirt. I was so excited for it. I wasn't done getting to know you, and I wasn't done being your friend. I'm glad that we got to dance together one last time at Subtronics earlier this year, and I really wish I would've known that that was going to be the last time I saw you. You clearly touched a lot of people, including myself, even if it was just for a few moments. One day, when it's my time to go, I hope we cross paths again in the cosmos, and I get to see that awesome Lil Peep shirt you made me. If there was one thing I learned about you, it was that you loved making art. I can't imagine the things your making right now, up there. Love, David"

  • "Heaven Gained An Angel"

    Heaven gained an angel
    Her wings were very weak
    Life was way too short
For her to reach her peak

    Stunning, Picture perfect
    Her smile lit the room
    But she didn’t realize
There was so much more to bloom

Most of us enjoy the sunshine
    She just loved the rain
Know that she is with you
    When it hits your windowpane

    When you see the rainbow
    Comes from Heaven up above
    Take in the beautiful colors
And let her shine her love

    Treasure all the good times
    That she had with you
    And know deep down inside
    She really loved you too

Her time on earth has ended
    we really don’t know why
But the wings she has are growing
    Soon She’ll be flying high

    Heaven has an angel
    Kiana, way to soon
Until we meet again my friend
    Know that we loved you

    — Dawn Mickelson

  • Oh sweet Kiana, I had the pleasure of meeting you when I started working at the good ole bagel shop. You had an immediate impact on people who crossed your path due to your kind hearted spirit and contagious smile. I’ll never forget our fun times we had working together - you always made it enjoyable! Until we meet again, rest peacefully sweet Kiana.
